Add "virtual" as location option.
Twice in 24 hours I've seen people say they could teach "but I'm not in ______." Both teachers and students are quite used to screensharing and video conferencing as a way to get commercial webinars, professional training, etc. Why not remove this small barrier?

Search function?
Is there a search function for different kind of classes? If no, would you please add one? Thanks!

provide control of email notification settings
hey rahmin -
currently i get emails every time:
- someone joins a class
- anyone comments on a classit would be great if i could turn these off. FYI, what i would like to continue getting emails for is:
- if the teacher comments on a class
- if the class has a time, date, and location setcheers

Right now we give the Teachers a field on the Class page to tell you about them and why you should want to take that Class from them. You can also click on the Teacher’s name to see more info about him/her including website and Twitter username.
In the future, we plan to let Students rate teachers as well.

Make location searches based on geolocation rather than location grouping
Regions are annoying. You have San Franciso, CA as a location, but I am not going to travel there.
I should be able to type in my zip code and see stuff near me.
There are free geolocation DBs on sourceforge, and the calculations for distance are pretty simple.
This is the main reason I am not continuing with this site.

allow users to control the email settings and be able to cancel their account if they choose to.
why cant you cancel your account?. users should have that option if they dont want to receive all the email updates or decide they dont like the service

remember my location and NOT default to Wichita.
I don't want to have to change from Wichita to my metro area every time I search or log in.

allow a preview/publish mechanism
to create a draft version of the class, bio and other items.
Those can then be reviewed & edited before publishing live to site.
Especially good for co-teaching

Allow teachers to post a question prior to class
It would be valuable to a teacher to be able to post a question or two to students prior to the class like "Name one thing you are looking to gain from this class" or "Which APIs are you interested in learning?"
Based on the answers the teacher can then adjust their lesson to maximize value for the students.

Hi Salman,
This is killer feedback – we would love to help teachers better understand the goals of the students and you bring up a great use case.
We have a few features we’re working on right now that should help out. This morning, @timrosenblatt added commenting functionality for classes — and, teachers and organizers will be able to email members of the class as a group in a feature we have queued for the current sprint.
Please let us know if these features go far enough for you.

Archive prior classes for emergent content linking (e.g. Youtube videos of past courses).
Archive classes that have already happened by location, teacher, and subject. Past classes can be viewed to help make cloning content easier, improving on old classes, and viewing class content that has been posted elsewhere by letting the organizer create links (e.g., blogposts, Youtube videos, a Flickr stream, etc.). This maintains class continuity and allows recycling of quality content forward to help improve upon it.

add third interest category - "I am knowledgable"
I am not willing to teach at this point, but i have enough knowledge to be able to teach.
e.g. with enough critical mass of these people, a group discussion/teach could be organized or someone eventually will step up from the "i am knowledgable" phase to the "i am willing" to teach stage.

Remember when user shuts off "Tweet my comment"
When a user unchecks the "Tweet my comment" box, they may just want to suppress Tweeting for that comment, but it seems more likely that they just don't want to tweet comments, ever. So how about setting a cookie that stores that preference and don't check that box by default when the user's unchecked it? Having to remember to uncheck the box and being involuntarily thrown into a Twitter page is making me not want to comment as much.

track whether/when classes did happen
So the un-class concept doesn't look like another flash in the pan

Option to change page language to Spanish
I'm a new user in Barcelona and we'd really like to offer the option to change the page into Spanish. Possible? I see that the forum has several language options but the main unclasses page does not. I'd be happy to do the translating myself in order to make it happen.

Zip code function doesn't work for international users
Would it be possible to create classes with only the location name and not the zip? Or to indicate what country you are in? When I enter my zip to create new workshops, I end up in NJ...I discovered that if I type "Barcelona" into the zip spot it will let me create the class, but I fear that other novice users will just assume that they can't create workshops.

field: recommended class size. possibly clone class if it b
add field for class size.
it can be loose or strict. if it's strict, the class is automatically cloned (without a teacher) so that more people can announce their wanting to be in such a class.
so...essentially, classes can get 'full' and the teacher can dictate class size when they sign up as a teacher.

limit the # of characters for metro area name in left column
on small monitor (like my laptop) the GUI is skewed when long name is used as LOCATION as in this class entry:
http://unclasses.com/classes/225
Florida-Orlando/Daytona BeachI have a screengrab I can send if you'd like to review the page layout
perhaps a character limit is not necessary as much as the bounding edges of that left column should be considered for usability and legibility.
